With Shining and Septic Flesh??
Another website said “ with Septic Flesh, Weapon and Lightning Swords Of Death” So, no idea what bands (other than Behemoth and Septic Flesh) were actually in attendance as they weren't announced at the venue and they didn't identify themselves on stage.

Back up, a bit about the venue:
The Starlite Room is a rather small but private “members only” club housed in a downtown brick building constructed in 1925. In winter it's not bad but in the summer it's rather seedy. The floors are crooked, the stairs a liability hazard, the bathrooms at best are on par with that of many prisons, bass makes the floors (and your bladder) vibrate but hey, I've been in worse places. The acoustics are pretty good, the staff is moderately helpful, the booze is reasonably priced and and the diminutive size of the venue means that pretty much no matter where you are, you get a decent view. And this time, it was a licensed event, not all ages.

I started out on the floor near one of the bars but pretty soon guys much larger than me (and my SO) began to arrive and mosh so I moved to a safer area with a better view. The mezzanine level is just up a few stairs but I was able to inch my way to the rail where it wasn't crowded and I got an unobstructed view despite being only a dozen or so meters from the stage.

The Show:
Doors opened at 8. The SO and I arrived at 8:43 and there was still a huge lineup. It wasn't too cold, only about -10C and lightly snowing. No one was on stage yet. The word in the line was that things were running late but at least Behemoth was in the country this time. The line moved slow and it was well passed 9PM by the time my tickets and ID were verified, I was patted down and coat checked. The first band was already on, no idea who they were but the sound was not the best. There was lots of distortion and most of their music sounded like noise.

Next up was a band who has some promise but their frontman seemed to be trying to be Shagrath and their bassist really needs to do something about his bald spot (the light kept reflecting off it).

Septic Flesh – These guys I've seen before and they were enjoyable to watch. Much better sound quality and the crowd really enjoyed them. I'm not very familiar with their work but their sounds were catchy and they interacted with the crowd well. They had some cool merchandise on sale too.

Behemoth – Were to start? I saw them arrive and go back stage to prepare. I must admit that I've never seen a band get ready so fast! They arrived in street clothes and were clothed, corpse-painted, set-up, tuned up and ready to go in only about 20 minutes. The crowd hardly had time to get restless and start chanting BE' HE' MOTH'! BE' HE' MOTH'!

The curtain opens. Out front tall and proud were Seth, Nergal and Orion. Inferno was hardly visible behind his impressive drum kit but he was certainly audible and holy shit can that man drum! Even his warmup was stunning and he treated the crowd to TWO solos.

First up: Ov Fire and the Void. The crowd went crazy. Nergal loves to work the crowd between songs and it was clear they were happy to be playing for us. He even apologized for Behemoth not making it last time (Summer Slaughter Tour, Canada Customs & Immigration denied them entry).

This band is big on interacting with the crowd. Even though Orion and Seth didn't speak, they certainly didn't give the impression that they were just there to play some tunes and collect a cheque.

All three of the boys up front constantly moved around on the stage so that everyone on all sides got a chance to see them. They posed for pics, slapped hands, toss out a few words, smiled and made it clear that they were enjoying themselves, rather than giving the impression that they were too cool to be doing what they were doing.

They were onstage for more than an hour and other songs in the setlist included:
Conquer All
Slaves Shall Serve
At the Left Hand ov God
LAM
Shemhamforash
The Nephilim Rising
Decade of Therion
Antichristian Phenomenon and several others that I don't recall because I'm not that much of a fan-girl. :-b

I'm hung over, hoarse and my neck is killing me but there was blood-spitting and bible ripping and a good time was had by all.

Those guys always play with enthusiasm, glad you enjoyed the show. Nice move for them to start off with a single.
