Varg recently conducted an interview based on questions sent to him through the Burzum website:

Slightly interesting. Varg contradicts himself, as usual.

I found it interesting he has so much knowledge of Norse mythology pretty much like he believes it then says it's crap in plain English. Is that what you mean Lu?

Yes. And his statements over the last couple of years always indicated that those indeed ARE his beliefs.

A friend found torrent files of it, but hasn't listened to it yet, I'm waiting to hear his opinion. And no, by "friend" I don't mean "me". Guess that'll keep the French download police silent. :P

I have the Promo, got it before 2 days! Listened to the first 2 songs only, the rest later.

I've seen some reviews saying it's on par with his old work. Then I listened to bits of songs (can be found on YouTube) and was surprised by the production and sound, it's the same cold feeling of his old albums.

Glemselens Elv is the best song on the cd but all in all it's pretty damn good. A lot better than i was expecting.

Well after listening to the new cd all week, it's fairly safe to say.... THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST BURZUM ALBUM! :D

Come oooooon!!! I still find it really less interesting than some of his earlier works. :P
But it's so better than many so-called BM releases this year that I won't throw the stone

...back to this forum after a while...

I listened to Belus only a few times, and I think it's a good album, but I think I should listen to it more times before making a full "in-depth" judgement.

By the way, one of the things I mostly like in it is that IMHO it sounds totally untrendy! It's like diving back into the mid 1990s
